During the May 21 AmCham Sweden Annual General Meeting, six new Board members were elected to serve two-year terms. The new members represent a variety of industries, and provide a wealth of professional experience that will benefit companies throughout our organization. Alexander Stiris is a Managing Director at Citi in Stockholm. In January 2018 he took over as Country Head for Citi Sweden, Nordic Corporate Banking Head as well as Nordic Cluster Head. Alexander joined Citi’s Corporate Bank in 2001 and spent seven years in the Madrid and London offices. He then moved to the Investment Banking team in Hong Kong in 2008 where he spent five years, followed by Corporate Finance, based in Dubai. Prior to his move to Stockholm, Alexander served as a Managing Director in the Corporate Bank in London.
Alexander holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bilingual Master in European Business. He lives in Stockholm with his wife and three children. In his spare time he likes to spend time with family and friends, travel and play tennis.
Prime Weber Shandwick
Billy McCormac rejoined Prime Weber Shandwick in 2018. He leads the agency’s public affairs practice. His client work revolves primarily around issues pertaining to urbanization and cities. He advises corporations and organizations in the commercial and residential real estate, construction, infrastructure and mobility spaces. He was president of the Stockholm Property Association (2013-2018), senior advisor at Prime (2010-2013), vice president of the free-market think tank Timbro (2005-2010) and senior advisor at JKL Group (1999-2005). He has also served on the board of Refugees Welcome Stockholm. He provides political analysis and commentary to numerous print and broadcast media outlets in Sweden.
Emma is a lawyer and a partner at Advokatfirman Delphi. She focuses her practice on a broad range of corporate matters, including transactional work within the fields of venture capital and private M&A, as well as company law matters where she regularly advises clients on issues relating to corporate governance. The clients Emma works with range from international corporations to start- ups within the technology sector. She very much enjoys working with new business ideas and entrepreneurs.
Emma also takes a great interest in the future development of legal services and she regularly lectures on how digitalization may impact the legal profession in the future. This area also has a strong link to the US market, as many of the new products focusing on disrupting the legal business originate from the US.
Emma is married and has two daughters. Her spare time she spends with family and friends.
Guido Bartels was appointed Managing Director Nordics & Baltics at Amazon Web Services in August 2017. Prior to that, he had a long international career at IBM, holding a variety of general management positions, among others for the Nordics Region, the Global Energy and Utilities Industry, as well for emerging businesses in EMEA. Within the energy and sustainability sectors, he was a Director on several Boards of nonprofit, as well as on for- profit, publicly listed organizations. Bartels served for two consecutive terms as a member of the Electricity Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Energy. Currently he is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden and of the Offshore Northern Seas Foundation (ONS) 2020 Conference Committee. He started his career in his home country the Netherlands, has worked and lived abroad for more than 23 years and currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden.
Hélène most recently served as CEO for Telia Sweden after also serving as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer. She has 25 years of experience in mobile, telecoms and IT, living in the sweet spot where cloud, social, big data and mobility converge to drive fundamental digital transformation.
Hélène is someone who clearly thrives in dynamic environments and has true passion for building strong teams that can take the business to new heights. Before Telia, Hélène was head of worldwide field & partner marketing at EMC in Boston where she was recognized for her strong skills in commercial management and marketing, including go-to-market, branding, communications, product management, and channel management from the mobile communications and it sector. Prior to EMC, she built up a truly international portfolio of experience, working in various B2B and B2C marketing and leadership roles at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications and other companies in Sweden, Denmark, Malta, the UK and Switzerland. Hélène also currently serves as non-executive director on the boards of GN Store Nord A/S and Kindred Group plc.
In her spare time, Hélène enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, sports, long walks with the family dog and engaging in various ways with her community, including mentoring.
Vahid Zohali is the Managing Director at DXC Technology Sweden since August 2018. Prior to this he served as Vice President in CGI Sweden and before that as Vice President at Tieto heading Banking sector globally. Vahid has 22 years of experience within the information technology where he has gained several senior leadership positions and developed digital business in sectors such as Financial Services, Telecom, Energy utility, manufacturing and healthcare.
Vahid studied System analysis & Business economics for 3 years at Mid Sweden University Sundsvall with complementary leadership courses from both Stockholm School of Economics IFL Executive Education and IESE Business School.
Vahid lives with his wife, Karin, and 2 children, Elvira and Emil, in Nacka outside of Stockholm. In his free time, he spends time with his family and friends and plays volleyball and basketball in 30+ teams.
