Four Swedish women among the most influential in the European Parliament
Four Swedes were among the 100 most influential of the 751 EU parliamentarians during the current term, according to a VoteWatch report. The most influential Swede was Cecilia Wikström (L) at place 22. The other Swedes on the list are Bodil Valero (MP), Linnéa Engström (MP) and Marita Ulvskog (S). MEPs’ scores are based on three main categories: direct shaping of Parliament’s reports, leadership roles in parliamentary bodies (bureau, committees, etc) and strength of the person’s political network (positions within the group, party, access to government.
