On 26 May 2019, another national election will be held in Sweden. This election aims to appoint Swedish Members of the European Parliament, who will sit in the European Parliament for the next five years. In total, 7.3 million Swedish citizens can vote in the European Parliament election. Sweden and Ireland have the most positive image of the European Parliament (50%) compared with the EU average of 32%.
With seven months left before the EU elections, 77% of Swedes think it's good that Sweden is a member of the EU. It is the highest level in 25 years, up 7% since the last survey in April. The corresponding figure among the EU-28 is 62%, according to the latest Eurobarometer survey.
