AmChams in Europe is the umbrella organization of 44 American Chambers of Commerce in Europe and Eurasia. The organization’s work is directed and implemented by the 7-member Executive Committee and the secretariat located now in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Peter R. Dahlen, Managing Director for AmCham Sweden, has been elected by his peers to join the organization’s Executive Committee to help develop and support the network of AmChams across Europe and ensure the exchange of best practices among member organizations. Peter’s two-year term will commence on January 1, 2018.
Established in 1963, AmChams in Europe serves as the umbrella organization for 44 American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) from 42 countries throughout Europe and Eurasia. In Europe ACE represents the interests of more than 17,000 American and European companies employing 20 million workers – accounting for more than $1.1 trillion in investment on both sides of the Atlantic.
As a bilateral voice of American and European companies, AmChams in Europe works to communicate the importance of the transatlantic economy in both Europe and the United States. In Sweden, with more than 220 members, AmCham Sweden is one of the most active business organizations in the country.
“As the voice of American business in Sweden, we work on behalf of our members to promote U.S.-Swedish business and U.S. commercial interests in Sweden,” says Peter. “AmCham’s success is contingent on the success of our member companies. So we focus our efforts on helping foster a climate conducive to business, competition and innovation.”
AmChams are independent, non-governmental business associations – all accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as representatives of U.S business in their respective country.
