2017 has been a remarkable year of connecting people and businesses. From connecting small businesses to key contacts to help them expand; to connecting members with policymakers to facilitate dialogue on policy issues that are vital to driving digital economy; to connecting two member companies - whether they are small or large - to promote and create business between them.
As our 25th anniversary year comes to a close — a year highlighted by America Day at Almedalen; the power and empowerment of mentoring through our Mentoring Program; the successful pilot of int’Link, our supplier diversity program, which ends this month leading to a full-scale launch in 2018; the 1st annual ThanksGrilling; and the 25th Anniversary Gala.
We also celebrate the first full year in our co-working office at United Spaces in central Stockholm where numerous members took advantage of the opportunity to book conference rooms, sponsor programs, and to attend AmCham programs and meetings.
Next year, we have a full slate of programs in the works, including a partnership with Harvard Business Review with the first two events scheduled for February 21st and June 8th (visit here and here to register your interest); a series of programs on doing business in the U.S.; the continuation of our popular Energy Lab series; and America Day in Almedalen on July 4th.
What is more, we are launching a digital platform which, among other things, will allow members to connect directly with each other and help us more deeply engage with members and to continue to expand our network — which welcomed 30 new members this year. Openness to business is paying dividends with transatlantic trade trending up once more. The digital economy presents new opportunity for businesses large and small. Swedish exports are on the rise. And both U.S. CEOs and Swedish CFOs are feeling increasingly optimistic about the future.
The transatlantic relationship is stronger and more important than ever. Heading into AmCham’s next quarter century of promoting trade and investment between Sweden and the United States, we look forward to bolstering these ties, fostering openness to business, and co-creating the future with you.
