Who Will America Vote For & Why?

Randy Gosda

The 2016 U.S. political campaigns have captured the interest of people around the world to a degree that has perhaps never been witnessed before.

On Tuesday, October 11 at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, more than 70 AmCham Sweden members heard from two former U.S. Congressmen, Mr. Scott Klug and Mr. Larry LaRocco, as they examined the the role the media plays in the electoral process.

The program was moderated by Gunnar Sonesson, Founding Partner of Diplomat Communications. Gunnar also serves as the Chair for the AmCham Sweden Government Relations Working Committee.

As former politicians, and current public affairs professionals, Mr. Klug and Mr. LaRocco brought their unique insider perspectives to Sweden from Washington, DC.

Larry LaRocco is the principal at LaRocco & Associates, Inc., a public affairs and government relations firm.  His public and private sector experiences have positioned him to tackle a wide range of advocacy assignments.  Previously, LaRocco served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Idaho for two terms, where he sat on the House Banking and Interior committees. After Congress, he served as managing director of the American Bankers Association.

Scott Klug is the public affairs director at the national law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP. Previously, he served for eight years as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin. His areas of expertise include developing communication strategies, the U.S. electoral process, good governance, energy policy, and health care. He maintains strong relationships with key Administration figures, as well as House and Senate leadership.
