On May 19, 2015, approximately 125 AmCham Sweden members and guests gathered at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm to attend the organization's 23rd annual meeting. The Keynote Speaker for the program, Anna Kinberg Batra, Moderate Party Leader, addressed the audience on the subject of transatlantic trade and the long-standing relationship between Sweden and the United States.
Peter Dahlen, AmCham Sweden Managing Director, presented the membership with an overview of activities that the Chamber has been engaged in for the past 12 months. Peter also provided an accounting of the financial report, new bylaws, membership structure and programs planned for the future.
Nominations to the AmCham Sweden Board of Directors were also presented for approval, including new members: Amanda Evans, General Manager of POC; Mattias Lewrén, Country Managing Director in Sweden for Accenture; Johan Rittner, Country General Manager for IBM in Sweden; Elizabeth Thand Ringqvist, member of the Board of Directors at KTH in Sweden. Current board members that were standing for re-election and approved include: Hans Enocson of GE; Clas Rönnlöv of OJM & Partners; Bengt Sjögren of Eastek International; and Beth Topolovsky of Stinson Partners. Beth Topolovsky was also joined as a Vice Chair for the Board of Directors by Gary Baker of EY in Sweden.
Prior to the mingle which followed the Annual General Meeting, the Chamber also recognized Board members for their service and leadership. Sture Lindmark, one of the Chamber's founders, past Chairman, and longest serving member of the Board, was nominated to the position of Chairman Emeritus, along with past Chairman Gunnar Hesse.
