Would you like to have an entrepreneurship and innovation student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology working for you part-time? The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management master’s program at KTH is looking for companies to collaborate with on student thesis (degree) projects.
The program has enterprising students from around the world, and they can work with a company when doing their thesis in such a way that it is a “win-win” for the company and student: The company gets help on important projects, and the students advance their learning through research, while developing their networks.
This degree project involves a 15-point thesis (half the length and credits of a traditional two-year master’s thesis program). As such, The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management Program (TEILM) is a one-year master's program.
Timing: The program begins in March and ends in June. In the past, students have completed successful thesis projects with companies including Ericsson, Telia, Microsoft, and other large enterprises, as well as startups. In May 2018, the new EU regulation on general data protection will enter into force. This regulation entails a complete reformation of all European data protection and opens for signi cant fees for those who do not adhere to it. Globally, we are also facing large challenges, such as the approval of Privacy Shield.
Speakers at this conference include Max Schrems, an Austrian privacy activist. Max Schrems has become known for his case in the CJEU, where he successfully challenged the rules on Safe Harbor, leading to large practical challenges for companies and authorities in connection with transfer of personal data to the US. Now, he is also challenging the rules on standard contractual clauses for transfer of personal data to countries outside the EU/EES. We will also hear from Peter Schaar, former German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, and lots of other thought leaders in the privacy sphere.

The Role of Airports in the European Union and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Conference will be held Septemeber 11-13, 2016, at the Hilton Sofia Hotel in beautiful Sofia, Bulgaria. This conference is being organized by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE), and the U.S. Embassy–Sofia in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the Civil Aviation Administration and Ministry of Transport of Bulgaria.
Airport and aviation executives from Europe, the United States, the Middle East/North Africa and Asia will discuss important topics affecting international aviation in the United States and Europe in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the U.S. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear how others are handling current challenges and to discover new technical and funding solutions for safety, security, commercial air service, and infrastructure development.
Representatives from FAA, ICAO, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and other aviation organizations will provide short presentations and lead interactive discussions. Participation is highly encouraged, as the intent of these sessions is to initiate greater collaboration in safety between all stakeholders going forward. Session topics will include passenger and cargo development, infrastructure planning and funding, commercial air service development, new concession trends, and security.

The relentless development of new ideas, products, practices and services has transformed everyday life to a degree we scarcely could have imagined a decade ago. This transformation spans entirely new artifacts (such as scarily smart mobile phones), how we perform old tasks (such as checking into airplanes, paying tolls and taxes), and even the revival of defunct practices (such as pedaling around cities on rented bicycles).
Professor Amar Bhidé credits multiplayer venturesomeness for this dynamism: Innovation has become highly democratized and decentralized. And we take for granted that things will continue getting better, faster, and cheaper.
However, medical innovation may be lagging. Some advances have been dramatic, for instance with regards to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and minimally invasive surgery. But overall advances in health care have not had the same transformative impact on the common person’s life as, for example, information technology.
In his lecture, Professor Bhidé will contrast his earlier work on the venturesome economy with findings from his ongoing research on groundbreaking medical innovation. This contrast provides lessons on how to make life science and health care more innovative and venturesome.
... is the Thomas Schmidheiny Professor of International Business at the Fletcher School, Tufts University. He has had previous positions at Columbia University and Harvard Business School. Professor Bhidé has been studying innovation and entrepreneurship for more than 25 years. He is a founding member of the Center for Capitalism and Society at Columbia University and edits the journal ”Capitalism and Society” together with nobel laurate Professor Edmund Phelps. Amar Bhidé is the author of ”A Call for Judgment: Sensible Finance for a Dynamic Economy” (Oxford University Press, 2010) and ”The Venturesome Economy: How Innovation Sustains Prosperity in a More Connected World” (Princeton University Press, 2008).

Get ready to get rid of your ”svengelska” and undergo a total media makeover at our two day full- immersion course in presentation and media training in English. The Local and Crimson Clarke have teamed up to give you the tools you need to wow an international audience and tell your corporate story to even the most skeptical journalists in the US and the UK.
This unique course is designed for senior Swedish-speaking communications managers and corporate leaders who regularly interact with international media and other stakeholders and thus need to be confident in their English-language storytelling and messaging abilities.
This intensive and interactive bootcamp is being held at the beautiful country estate of Thoresta Herrgård outside Stockholm. During two full days, we will help you shed your nervousness when speaking English on camera, master the art of pitching to the global media, and better navigate the media landscape outside Sweden.
This year's Total Media Makeover Bootcamp is being led by three native English speaking instructors, all of whom are fully fluent in Swedish as well.
James Savage is co-founder and Managing Editor of the Local, where he leads the company’s Europe- wide team of journalists. A UK-trained journalist and graduate of the London School of Economics, James has appeared on media including the BBC, CNN, Sky News, and CBC as a commentator on Swedish and European affairs.
David Landes is Head of Commercial Content at The Local where he advises clients on how to create and frame messages for an international audience.
