Fake news. Mainstream media. Alternative facts.
Fake news has become increasingly prevalent in our lives. Today, the presence of alternative facts and false narratives is growing across all channels, from traditional media to our social news feeds. As a consequence, we are constantly being challenged to distinguish facts from misinformation. This in turn can have a great impact on the economy and elections.
AmCham Sweden invites you to a Fireside Chat and Wine Mingle with Olle Wästberg and Paul Rapacioli as they discuss the media's role in shaping public opinion, and the influence this has on how businesses operate today – no matter the industry.
Olle Wästberg is the former Director-General of the Swedish Institute. With a background in journalism and foreign affairs, Olle previously served as the Consul General of Sweden in New York from 1999 to 2004.
Paul Rapacioli is the Founder & CEO at The Local. Originally from London, Paul moved to Sweden in 2003 and began The Local the following year.
