U.S. Elections in 2016 are coming up fast - the caucus and primary season begins February 1st! Are you a young voter or someone who has not voted in some time? Or just want to make sure you will receive a ballot in time for the general election? U.S. Citizens living overseas are eligible to vote – you do not need to own property or have a U.S. mailing address, or even ever have voted before in the U.S. As a citizen, you carry your right to vote in the U.S. from anywhere in the world.
Hard Rock Cafe on Sveavägen in Stockholm along with a group of organizations welcome you from 17:00-20:00 on February 1st as we come together for a non-partisan evening of notable speakers, live entertainment, mingling and most importantly, voter registration in the spirit of Rock The Vote!
Politics do not matter, democracy does!
The U.S. Embassy in Sweden's voting representatives will be on hand and there will be online assistance, using Rock the Vote and U.S. Vote's platform, to be sure you are ready for the current election cycle. There will also be offline options at this event and another opportunity to register on Friday, February 5th, 2016 at the United States Embassy in Stockholm.
Not a U.S. Voter? There will be plenty of time for good old fashioned mingling, and the program should be exciting for anyone with a connection to the United States.
Price/Participation: This event is free of charge to all participants and there is no age constraint. Voter registration is only available to U.S. Citizens under the requirements of U.S. and State laws. Registration and entrance at the event entitles you to a group discount exclusively available to participants on food and drinks. Drinks must be purchased individually at the bar.
