Making sense of the strategies and stories behind the 2016 campaign headlines. 

The 2016 U.S. political campaigns have captured the interest of people around the world to a degree that has perhaps never been witnessed before. 

AmCham Sweden, in coordination with the U.S. Embassy in Sweden, invites you to hear from two former U.S. Congressmen, Mr. Scott Klug and Mr. Larry LaRocco, as they examine the the role the media plays in the electoral process.

As former politicians, and current public affairs professionals, Mr. Klug and    Mr. LaRocco are bringing their unique insider perspectives to Sweden from Washington, DC.

The program will be moderated by Gunnar Sonesson, Founding Partner of Diplomat Communications.

Mr. Larry LaRocco,
Former Member of the U.S. House of Representatives

Larry LaRocco is the principal at LaRocco & Associates, Inc., a public affairs and government relations firm.  His public and private sector experiences have positioned him to tackle a wide range of advocacy assignments.  Previously, LaRocco served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Idaho for two terms, where he sat on the House Banking and Interior committees. After Congress, he served as managing director of the American Bankers Association. Bio


Mr. Scott Klug
Former Member of the U.S. House of Representatives

Scott Klug is the public affairs director at the national law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP. Previously, he served for eight years as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin. His areas of expertise include developing communication strategies, the U.S. electoral process, good governance, energy policy, and health care. He maintains strong relationships with key Administration figures, as well as House and Senate leadership Bio

Mr. Gunnar Sonesson
Founding Partner of Diplomat Communications  

Gunnar Sonesson, our Moderator for this program, is a Founding Partner at Stockholm-based Diplomat Communications. Gunnar has a background in politics, and has worked in several election campaigns, as well as with the two latest referendums, on Swedish EU membership (1994) and on the Euro (2003).
