On behalf of the AmCham Sweden Human Resources Working Committee and Sustainability Working Committee, you are invited to hear Swedbank andProffice discuss the current refugee crisis and how businesses can address the issue of incorporating newly arrived professionals into the job market.
Group Responsible for Diversity & Equality,
Head of Recruitment, Proffice AB
As the refugee crisis grows in Sweden, so too does the number of highly educated, foreign-born professionals who are unemployed, and remain so for extensive periods of time. "Finally a Job" is an initiative from Swedbank that is designed to help these individuals gain a foothold in the labor market.
Since its launch in autumn 2011, this initiative has provided people who have skills that translate to employment opportunities with six-month trainee positions in Swedbank branches in Sweden. All participants have received training, had their credentials validated, undergone language training and been assigned their own responsibilities. Two thirds have subsequently been offered employment.
Madelene Persson of Swedbank will provide an update of the results the program has achieved thus far, and Anki Eiken of Proffice AB will describe how Swedish companies can work with the situation in ways similar to programs that have been introduced by American and Canadian companies.
